My Favorite Genesis Album, BUT. . . (5 stars)
"And Then There Were Three" shows off Genesis at their concentrated best. The composing, arranging and performing on these songs is simply incredible, and this long-awaited remastering is definitely an improvement (sorry, all you vinyl worshippers!). Phil Collins shows off the chops that gave him his reputation as one of the best rock drummers ever, along with covering ALL the many-layered vocals; Tony Banks stretches his talents

One of the best post- Peter Gabriel Albums! (5 stars)
This third album post Peter Gabriel is still one of the best examples of Genesis doing melodic, intricate progressive rock with scope and graduer. Down and Out starts off a sweep of seven strong songs and things don't lighten up until Scenes from a Night's Dream. Deep in the Motherlode in theme and sound hints at Driving the Last Spike written about a decade later. All in all, a strong, strong effort despite the departure of Steve Hacket

Three is better than NOTHING!! (4 stars)
This album is glorious and is among their most under-rated stuff. It opens with the insanity of "Down and Out" and then mellows out slightly with "Undertow." "Ballad of Big" and "Snowbound" continue in typical 70's Genesis fasion. "Burning Rope" serves as a wonderful warm up to the intense "Deep in the Motherlode," which is easily the best song on the album. The album continues wit
