Feist's best work! (5 stars)
So glad this album finally came across the sea to U.S. iTunes! The originals from the songs that were remixed on Open Season are here. All of the songs on here are so unique. The 1st track, Gatekeeper, shows Leslie's beautiful vocals. The original of Mushaboom is better than the remixes. It is such a pure, lovely song. Let It Die, the title track, reminds me of Norah Jones, with the lingering instrumentation underneath captivating lyrics. On

It is about time this album was on iTunes! I've been wondering why they didn't have it. And just so everyone knows, this album came out BEFORE The Reminder... moving on... This album is incredible. I was floored on the first listen all the way through. Feist has this breathy, sexy voice. Her sound is altogether delicate, sassy, heartbreaking...you name it. Mushaboom is a song I can listen to on repeat for hours, it makes me so happy.

Born Leslie Feist in Amherst, Nova Scotia, singer/songwriter Feist relocated to Calgary at a young age and got her start playing in an all-girl punk band named Placebo (not to be confused with the U.K. modern rock act of the same name). After winning a battle-of-the-bands contest, Placebo (whose members were still in high school) played their first gig opening for the Ramones in 1991, and for the next five years, Feist sharpened her rock & roll ways alongside her bandmates.
