My Favorite (5 stars)
Well. I straight off disagree that this isn't 'essential'. Baloney Me, I've heard every Otis Redding song thats available and this is my favorite collection. I'd pay 9.99 for 'I Got the Will' Oh great "I Got the Will' 'Snatch a Little Piece' 'Wholesale Love' and 'Slippin and Slidin' I worship thy wicked Al Jackson/Steve Cropper/Duck Dunn grooves. As good as it gets.

An essential for fans of Memphis soul (5 stars)
These sessions come from the huge amount of unreleased material that Otis recorded during 1967. While much posthumous vault-raiding is about profits, this album captures Redding's voice and songwriting talent at his peak.

He was also the most consistent exponent of the Stax sound, cutting his records at the Memphis label/studios that did much to update R&B into modern soul.
