When I came to the states from UK - not many had heard of Peter Greene. Now he gets featured as the 'other' Eric Clapton'. This is England's best EVER blues guitarist and it stands out on Albatross, Black Magic Woman - (yes his) and the Need your love so bad - cover. Don't Buy This Version (2 stars)
Pious Bird of Good Omen is a fantastic album in it its original form. It is an exhibition of British Blues Rock at its finest, however, this is not the original version of the album. This is Blue Horizon's version from 2004. This version contains 5 different takes of Need You love So Bad (probably because the band was able to put Little Willie John's classic on the charts in the UK for the 3rd time). Between (the original) Fleetwood Mac and John Mayall (with the various incarnations of The Bluesbreakers), you have some of the finest British Blues. Listened to the original Mac on vinyl so often, we wore the grooves out.
