Beginning and End (4 stars)
This 2-disc set captures The Police towards the beginning of their career, and at the very end. Disc 1 is raw and urgent, the sound of a band outgrowing their club shows. Disc 2 is slicker (backup singers, keyboards) but the first time I heard Synchronicity I go right into Synchronicity II, I got chills.

How could you give theese bad ratings? (5 stars)
The Police is a great band, better yet, a great live CD! They Perform great and sound way better live then on record!

Good CD, Wrong iTunes Summary (4 stars)
Just FYI, the iTunes review under the album art is for the compilation album The Police, not the live one (this one). Otherwise, this album is pretty good, sounding just as good as if it were recorded in a studio. The songs are faster too.

Nominally, the Police were punk rock, but that's only in the loosest sense of the term. The trio's nervous, reggae-injected pop/rock was punky, but it wasn't necessarily punk. All three members were considerably more technically proficient than the average punk or new wave band. Andy Summers had a precise guitar attack that created dense, interlocking waves of sounds and effects. Stewart Copeland could play polyrhythms effortlessly. And Sting, with his high, keening voice, was capable of constructing...
