If some of these twangy tunes sound familiar, that's because five of them were previously released live versions on Pass the Jar: Zac Brown Band and Friends Live from the Fabulous Fox Theatre In Atlanta. But the studio takes of "Let It Go," "Who Knows," "Whiskey's Gone," "Colder Weather," and "Make This Day" don't sound too different, which is just a testament to how solid these guys are live. As Brown and band's second major-label studio album proves, they can also hold their own when the tape is rolling. The summery "Knee Deep" features guest vocals from Jimmy Buffett, who really nails the close-harmonies. But what's more impressive is how the recording of this tune sounds as timeless as any of Buffett's radio hits. Similarly Alan Jackson lends his larynx to "As She's Walking Away" but it's the vacuum-tight musicianship and classic tones that let this song radiate with the warmth of an old- familiar country rock tune from the ‘70s. Of the four bonus songs, Brown's live cover of Ryan Adams' "Oh My Sweet Carolina" shines brightest.

Breath of fresh air! (5 stars)
The Zac Brown Band is a breath of fresh air to country music. It’s just the type of diversity that Nashville needs. No more “I’m more country than you" acts please ! My two picks for this week are this cd and Tyler Barham’s EP.

Incredible album (5 stars)
Incredible album - nothing short of what I was expecting after The Foundation. Great harmonies and instrumentals. Zac Brown Band has quickly become my favorite country band - this CD was a long time coming and I couldn't be happier!

Something changed and I like it! (5 stars)
I get tired of people who have this idea that unless a band stays in its same old rut that they aren't any good. Zac Brown band changed something and its a wonderful change. They haven't lost any ground with that change its for sure. They are simply a band with an amazing amount of musical talent which is rarity in this genre these days. They definitely seem to have brought a new sort of choir-esq sound with more members singing at once and
